Five stars is rating this as what it is - an older motel. It is clean, friendly staff, a decent place. We could hear footsteps in the room above. There is no free breakfast. Location is excellent - looking to a sunrise over Lake Michigan with a lovely hike/bike path. Even with the motel's own somewhat overrated description, I would stay here again, so I give 5 stars.
The hot tub room 232 omg best room ever.
Room was clean but there was a smell about it. Kind of musty but not overpowering. It went away after 2 hours of ac running. The view was nice. There was a childs birthday party going on so we didn't get full use of the pool. The next morning we wanted to try the whirlpool but it was closed due to chemical issues. The beds were ok. The staff are super nice & the price to stay was low which is why they got 3 stars. No breakfast offered, and they have RV/camping on site. All in all I would say "meh" to the whole experience & I'll likely look elsewhere the next time I'm in the area.

Very nice for an older inexpensive motel. Amazing view of the lake and very nice pool area with a little bar. Very friendly staff as well.
