The car has been in our possession since 3/19, and I already have about 400$ stuck into it. My girlfriend was shown a file with all of the maintenance done to the vehicle over the years at - you guessed it - pekarske's. I know for a fact that it had to be fake documentation - car was previously registered in Illinois. Sadly she did not get a copy of this document as it was just "shown" at the time of sale.
She was verbally told the brakes were just done - I just did a rotor and brakes all around today. In which process I discovered that both front wheel bearings are shot and sloppy. I also have quite a few questions about the "Norb's Salvage" tag that was attached to the passenger side front strut with Pekarske's name on it - the buyers guide states no repair was done to the strut tower..
and priced right.
One of the best truck buying experience's I ever had! Tom was fantastic to deal with! The truck I purchased was a good deal and everything that needed attention was taken care of prior to picking it up just as Tom promised. I would highly recommend purchasing from Tom & Kathy. Good honest people!!
Lower intake gaskets were BAD. Cracked.
oil changes are very reasonable. Sometimes, if there's
::::UPDATE::::
Tom and Kathy are nice folks, easy to negotiate with.
They have two well-trained and friendly mechanics, and
All fluids filled stated on the sheet? Why was the power steering bone dry? Why was the antifreeze a gallon short? Where is the antifreeze leaking to? Not underneath the car - so I'm either going to be ending up doing lower intake or a head gasket.
Yes we are at fault in a sense and stuck with the vehicle, but there was complete and utter dishonesy. It was an easy opportunity to screw someone over.
Now all that's left is both control arms and an axle.
All I can say is look very closely at what you are purchasing. Get a second opinion. Do NOT listen to anything their mechanics say about the vehicle. They are not Better Business Bureau accredited. The only reviews I can find on them on the internet look to be written by family or friends. Here is an honest one.
time, they'll suggest a tire rotation at the same time, for
No visible leaks as stated on the sheet? Well, why is there oil dripping daily - valve cover gaskets - which I guess I can consider him to be kind enough to purchase for me to replace on my own... He also supplied a new rear window regulator for me to install since the back window dropped the day after she brought the car home.
Unless you are a man or woman with knowledge of vehicles, don't waste your time. They will take advantage of individuals without car knowledge. They will lie on the "wisconsin buyers guide" on the vehicle window. The smarmy bastard definitely pulled a fast one on my girlfriend and her grandmother when they went to look at cars.
Always a good deal & honest dealership !
Yep - I give them props for providing me with valve cover gaskets and a window regulator. But they definitely pulled one over on two "clueless" individuals. If I would have been along for this whole purchase (or even known they went to purchase a car) they would have never signed the paper saying "As is, as shown."
Tom and Kathy are great people they have great employees, the atmosphere is great there, they make you feel welcomed. They gave great deals they are great people and they are easy to negotiate with, overall I loved the experiance
very little extra money. Selection of cars and always nice,
Tore motor apart. Did lower intake and valve cover gaskets. Someone had the valve covers off at one point and RTV'd the old gaskets on instead of using new ones.
